Harry Potter fans get ready for online book club

From Pottermore:  This June, Pottermore is launching the official Wizarding World Book Club with Bloomsbury and Scholastic.

“In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Pottermore invites fans old and new to join the Wizarding World Book Club – a free, online club to examine and debate every book in the Harry Potter series.

There will be many ways to participate. Each week, a new theme from the Harry Potter stories will be discussed over on Pottermore’s brand new Wizarding World Book Club Twitter account, @WWBookClub.

Register with Pottermore and you’ll soon be able to check out the Wizarding World Book Club dedicated section of the site, read new articles about each theme and even gather rewards for your reading progress.”

Competencies added to People for Education Measuring What Matters

People for Education also manages a web page called Measuring What Matters whose purpose “is to create a set of measures that are publicly understandable, educationally useful and reflect the broad skills students will need in the workforce and to take their place as engaged citizens.”

Information is presented on the following identified domains: Health, Creativity, Social-Emotional Skills, Citizenship, Quality Learning Environment.  “Each of these domains overlaps; each is found throughout the curriculum; each has an impact on students’ long-term success; and each is connected to the broad skills students will need to be productive, engaged, healthy citizens.”

In March 2017,  competencies documents were added to each domain in the Our Research section.  Check them out here!
