Education one way to prevent violent extremism

Bleak topic tho’ this be, in classrooms discussing global and controversial issues (with massive media presence and fake news), you may find the following 2 UNESCO resources to be useful.

Preventing violent extremism through Education: A guide for Policy-Makers (2017, 75 pages) and includes 4 sections:

TDSB Earl Haig’s ‘story’ featured on EQAO improved math scores

From the EQAO website: “EQAO recognizes seven secondary schools that have effectively used EQAO data to institute programs and strategies that help Grade 9 students in applied math improve their performance. Congratulations on developing effective math strategies informed by EQAO data!”

TDSB’s Earl Haig’s Secondary School is one of the seven schools featured. Check it out and discover what initiatives were identified as playing a role in improved scores.
