Have you read Marzano’s now classic book titled Classroom Instruction that works? (2001). In fact, if you do an author search ‘Marzano’ in our catalogue (http://bit.ly/PLbookcat) you’ll see 43 titles!

His latest is titled  The New Art and Science of Teaching and “while the previous model focused on teacher outcomes, the new version places focus on student outcomes, with strategies teachers can use to help students grasp the information and skills transferred through their instruction. Throughout the book, Marzano details the elements of three overarching categories of teaching, which define what must happen to optimize student learning: students must receive feedback, get meaningful content instruction, and have their basic psychological needs met.”

We’ve got one copy! You can reserve the book in our catalogue or phone (416) 395-8289 or email professionallibrary@tdsb.on.ca .
