Collaborative Professionalism is the subject of Ontario MoE PPM#159. From page 1: “In Ontario, collaborative professionalism is defined as professionals – at all levels of the education system1 – working together, sharing knowledge, skills and experience to improve student achievement and well-being of both students and staff.”

The PPM includes sections that describe/outline:

  • the vision
  • shared understanding and commitments
  • roles and collective responsibilities

Collective Teacher Efficiency by Jenni Donohoo is the latest blog article from The Learning Exchange (formerly Learn Teach Lead). “Collective teacher efficacy (CTE) refers to a staff’s shared belief that through their collective action, they can positively influence student outcomes, including those who are disengaged and/or disadvantaged.” CTE has six enabling conditions:

  1. advanced teacher influence
  2. goal consensus
  3. teacher’s knowledge about one another’s work
  4. cohesive staff
  5. responsiveness of leadership
  6. effective systems of intervention

Bottom line:  we work better together as a team! Check ’em out! Rowan
