2017 is Canada’s 150 birthday – do you know how to spell sesquicentennial?  Below are selected links to webpages and some of those web pages include opportunities for participation in various competitions for Canada’s youth, eg the Canada Day Challenge.

Royal Bank of Canada.

Canadian Geographic recommends Gray Jay as Canada’s’ national bird with the aim of declaring an official bird for Canada by 2017, the 150th anniversary of Confederation. See also National Bird Project City of Toronto Poet Laureate, Anne Michaels, has invited secondary students to create a city-wide poem in celebration of Canada’s Sesquicentennial. Schools can submit up to 15 student entries, as described in this letter to principals. The best entries will form a single, city-wide poem. To submit please refer to the Submission Form.
