The Ministry has released a new monograph in the Capacity Building series (#45, July 2016)  titled Supporting Students with Refugee Backgrounds.  This monograph offers a framework for reflecting on current practice and taking a whole-school approach to the successful integration of students with refugee backgrounds in the school community. It notes the trauma that many students have experienced and offers a framework of responsive practices to develop a whole-school approach for supporting the successful integration of students with refugee backgrounds.
