LearnTeachLead  has shared links to 4 new Ministry documents (2016) – 3 from the What Works? Research into Practice series and 1 from the Capacity Building Series.

Campbell, Dr. T.A, Brownlee, A., & Renton, C.A. (2016, Feb.). Pedagogical documentation Opening windows onto learning.  What Works? Research into Practice, #61).

From page 1: “Many [classroom teachers] are employing diverse forms of pedagogical documentation as a powerful way of chronicling student learning in action, attributing value to the thoughts and feelings of the learners themselves during the process.”

From page 2:  “Through documentation, and the conversations it inspires, learners are empowered to articulate their thinking, feelings, and beliefs about themselves and their learning. Listening to learners, teachers learn to attribute value to aspects of learning experiences from the learner’s perspective.”

pages 2-4 shows the how of visual displays using different formats with plenty of ideas such as (digital) photographs, art,  stories (have the children describe their learning using family friendly learning) , using blogs, bulletin boards, window ledges, parent emails.

Check it out!
