Irwin Elman, Ontario’s child and youth advocate,  is releasing a web page I Have Something to Say, an initiative to give voice – through writing, art, video,  song, or whatever – to children and families of children with learning disabilities and special needs.

From their web page, the aim ” is to place the voice of children and youth at the center of a discussion about how our systems of care  [ me: including boards of education] can ensure the rights of children with special needs is protected across sectors, ministries and jurisdictions.”

Check it out! And also today’s Toronto Star article by Laurie Monsbraaten titled Web Project Provides a Voice for those with Special Needs.
